Monday's Muse for 18 August 2014

Welcome to Monday's Muse, where we share some family history love to get you motivated for the coming week - not with cake, but with genealogical goodness!

8 "Muse"-ings to Kick Off Your Week

1. Have you thought about taking the ProGen course? Miriam Robbins describes the course and her experiences taking it in her post  I'm a ProGen Almnus!

2. Bridging the Generation Gap: Do you have kids or grandchildren whose eyes glaze over when you try to get them interested in your family history stories? Alox Deshpande offers suggestions on how you can help bridge the gap and capture their attention.

3. In honor of the 100 year anniversary of the start of World War I, Joy Neighbors compiled 100 Facts About World War I - 100 Years After It Began.

4. If you are considering starting a business as a professional genealogist, you'll want to read this post - So You Think You Want To Start a Business As A Professional Genealogist? - by Ginger A. Smith.  Lots of great thoughts and suggestions!

5. Janine Adams writes a great post to remind us to Step Away from the Desk and do things offline like research at repositories or attend conferences!

6. Got words? Share them with Jill Ball! She has started a new creation. I quote from Jill's post: "I am hoping that my geneablogging friends and genimates will contribute words, pictures and stories to the GeneaDictionary, a blog that will allow us to discuss the history and origins of the original and funky words we have coined while dealing with our geneaffliction on and offline."

7.  You've got to Meet Matt.  I interviewed him for the Global Family Reunion blog and was so impressed!  He's only 15 but we've already got him hooked into a geneaddiction!

8. Check out this great tool for visualizing U.S. migration patterns!
